Friends of the Poor Walk
Get some family or friends together Saturday, September 30 and take a walk along the Scotch Ridge Nature Trail in Carlisle while helping the needy through St. Vincent de Paul. The two-mile fun walk/run has two trail choices. Your pledges will help those who need assistance in our community. Is There Evidence of God from Contemporary Science?

Part of the James Supple Lecture Series, featuring Fr. Robert Spitzer. A Catholic priest and Jesuit, he is the author of eight books, including New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy. He appears weekly on EWTN in “Father Spitzer’s Universe,” where he responds to viewer questions on a range of subjects, including reason, faith, suffering, and the existence of God.
Pro-lifers throughout Iowa will join neighbors and friends to form “Life Chains” along busy streets to demonstrate their support for life. Natural Family Planning Classes
The next three-part series of classes on the sympto-thermal method of natural family planning is scheduled to begin Monday, October 2 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Games & More (Valley West Mall, WDM). Catholics & Lutherans Conclude the 500th Anniversary Marking the Reformation
On October 22, Catholics and Lutherans will come together at St Mark's Lutheran Church in DSM to mark the concluding service of the 500th Anniversary Year of the Protestant Reformation. Lutherans and Catholics first joined together in prayer on November 4, 2016, to kick off a year of examining the historical background, recent documents and efforts to understand each tradition better and spend time with each other through joint congregation activities. Tour of Scotland
The Newman Catholic Student Center at The University of Iowa is sponsoring a 12-day tour of England, Scotland and Wales March 9-20, 2018.
