Rule 9: Frame Your Mind with Faith

Frame your Mind with Faith

In Living Joy the ninth and final rule is to Frame your Mind with Faith. We don’t often consider how powerful our thoughts can be, but how we think will affect how we act, which ultimately affects how we frame our daily life.

I spent a morning with a faith sharing group that shared with me how they intentionally frame their lives with faith.

Thank you for participating in our vlog series on LIVING JOY! Share your stories of how you have come to find and live joy!

Next up: LENT, starting March 2. Join us as we SEEK HIM, LOVE HIM, FOLLOW HIM. Check out what is happening around the parish during Lent HERE

Serve

In Living Joy the eighth rule is to serve. We are called to serve one another, but how and where?

I enjoyed an afternoon with this great couple who shared their ways of serving within the parish. They are passionate about what they do and where they spend their time. My question for you is where is your passion and how do you allow that to lead you to serve others?

Each Monday check back for the next installment of our vlog series. Next week (Monday, February 28) join us back here on the blog for our next installment: FRAME YOUR MIND WITH FAITH

Rest

In Living Joy the seventh rule is to rest. This is a call to something more than “doing nothing.” It is a call to an intentional time of rest that is renewing and rejuvenating.

How do you find rest? Does it renew you in body, mind, and/or spirit?

Rule 6: Make Friends

Make Friends

In Living Joy the sixth rule is to make friends. Not just have people I call friends, but to actively make friends and build friendships.

I spent a few afternoons with a group of friends who trace their friendship back about 20 years. Listen to the golden nuggets of what they believe has kept them together and how their friendship has blessed them individually.

Rule 5: Engage Your Body

Engage Your Body

The fifth rule for Living Joy is to Engage Your Body. There are lots of excuses not to engage our bodies, but none of them are good. The value of engaging our bodies affects not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well.

Let’s listen to Kari, Jodi, and Eric who have some tips and inspiration to help us overcome the excuses and find joy by moving our bodies regularly.

Have Fun

The fourth rule from Living Joy is Have Fun. In the office we have the joy of laughing, having fun, and cringing at bad dad jokes on a regular basis. We wanted to share some of that fun with you!

Be ready to laugh as you listen in as Tom and Chip square off to see who has the worst, oops, I mean, best dad jokes! Who do you think “wins” for the “best” dad jokes?

Rule 3: Love Yourself

Love Yourself

Rule 3 of Living Joy is Love Yourself. In this world we can get distracted from the two most important voices in our lives - God’s and our own.

In this video Patty walks us through ways to get back in touch with how we see ourselves and trusting that we are “wonderfully made” by a God who loves us!.

Rule 2: Practice Silence

Practice Silence

Rule 2 of Living Joy is Practice Silence. What a crazy idea in this world of ours - yet what joy comes from the silence!

Listen as Patty, Mary, and Jo Kay talk about the beauty and sacredness of silence - whether on retreat or in our every day life! Listen to the end and be treated to a few minutes of ‘sacred silence.’
