Meet the Finance Council

Brian Hagedorn

Brian Hagedorn

My wife, Kim, and I have lived in Ankeny for 25 years and have been members of OLIH the entire time.  We have three daughters, Emily, Grace, and Kara.  I have worked at Wells Fargo for 30 years and I am currently a Senior Wealth Management Banker.  Kim has worked for Principal for 11 years and is currently an Assistant Director in the Corporate Properties Group.

I started a second stint on the Finance Council in May 2022.  I previously served on the F.C. under Fr. Orr, including as Chair for several years. My desire to utilize my finance and banking background for the service and betterment of the members of OLIH prompted me to join the F.C.  As a previously serving member of the council, being asked to re-join was an easy decision.  As a steward of the generosity of the members of the parish, being a F.C. member is both a great gift and a great responsibility, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the parish in this capacity.

The value of the F.C. is embedded in the unique skills and perspectives each member brings to the group.  As true stewards, the F.C. ensures that the money our parishioners give to OLIH is spent wisely so that we retain and attract a dedicated and talented staff; that our building and grounds are properly maintained; and that our faith formation and other parish outreach efforts continue to be vibrant and fruitful.  The group also reviews budgets and income and tithing trends, with a focus on ensuring the longevity and overall financial health of the parish.
