As we ask the Lord to shelter us, we look around to see how we can shelter others. Remember our Lenten Project? Your efforts are still needed! OLIH is joining with other churches in Ankeny to help local homeowners with much needed repairs. In order for this to be a successful campaign, we have three areas to address:
1) Volunteers will assist two low-income residents with owner-occupied repair, including building a ramp and stoop/steps to help with accessibility. You can register for a volunteer shift on June 11 or 12. Register for a shift NOW for planning purposes.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. All 16 or 17 year olds must volunteer with an adult and bring their volunteer waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
2) Raise funds to help Habitat for Humanity purchase home repair supplies. You can send money or checks (made out to OLIH) to the office or go to our website to give electronically.
3) Identify folks who meet the requirements for aid and have them submit an application.
