Bishop-elect Joensen’s Ordination Liturgies
This week our diocese, the 23 counties of central and southwestern Iowa, will celebrate the ordination and installation of Bishop-elect William Joensen as our tenth bishop. Here are ways you can participate:
Ordination Watch Party at OLIH: Friday, September 27, 2 pm in the Green Room. Due to space at St. Francis, the ordination liturgy will be live-streamed. Randy Henderson & crew will host this watch party open to anyone and everyone. Popcorn and Mass DO go together in this case! Bring treats and drinks—it’s like an inside tailgate party! Let us know you’re coming and we’ll save you a seat!
Other events open to the public:
Evening Prayer: Thursday, September 26, 7 pm, at St. Ambrose Cathedral in DSM
Post-ordination Reception: Friday, September 27, 5 pm the Hy-Vee Ron Pearson Center in WDM. You can leave our party and join with the whole Diocese in celebration!
Additionally, this fall we will be incorporating much of the music used in the bishop’s ordination evening prayer and ordination in our weekend Masses.
