The Pilgrim Mother, a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is visiting the Diocese of Des Moines from July 15 to September 11. This life-sized statue is traveling to dioceses around the United States in preparation for the 500th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady to Saint Juan Diego in 1531 in Mexico. At specific times that will be announced later, a 45-60 minute "experience" will accompany people's visit to the statue that includes a digital retelling of the story of the apparitions, a mystery of the rosary, a song, an opportunity for people to write petitions in white ribbons, and time for prayer and reflection.

The Pilgrim Mother will be at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart August 6-13.  We are finalizing exact times and plans and will communicate them out to the parish as soon as we are able.
