Honoring Our Own
When a loved one passes away, we are often asked, “how can I honor their memory?” At OLIH, many people choose to have Masses said for the deceased. Unfortunately, due to the large number of funerals at this parish, our schedule is already into 2018 and is rapidly filling up. (The diocese only allows one intention per Mass and we only have one priest so we are doubly limited.) We are looking at ways to make this equitable for everyone, so we may limit the number of Masses said here (transferring some to St. Luke’s or the missions) or limit how far out dates are reserved. In the meantime, we want to make you aware of other ways you can honor your loved one or a special event in your life. One way is to sign up to maintain the rose at Our Lady’s statue in the Gathering Space. For $10 your intention will be noted for two weekends. Another is to make a tax deductible gift through our Memorial Program. Established funds include:
Our Lady’s Little Learners’ Tuition Assistance
Art & Environment Fund
St. Vincent de Paul
Faith Formation Program
Adult Faith Formation
Area of Greatest Need
Annually we publish a “Remembrance Page” where we capture the names of those honored and those honoring them. If you are interested in either of these options, please contact the office, 964-3038.
