'Celebration of Service' for Fr Steve
From: Sunday, December 2 1:30 PM
To: Sunday, December 2 4:00 PM
Fr Steve is ‘retiring’ from pastor duties and entering a new phase of his priestly vocation. We want to celebrate not only the time he has been at OLIH (since July 14, 2005) but all the many stops along the way (ordained on July 27, 1974).
There’s a number of ways you can help with the celebration:
Want to be part of the Parish Gift to Fr Steve?
We want to give Fr Steve ’peace of mind’ as our parish gift. He can buy a house, get a new car or go on a long delayed trip. If you would like to contribute to his gift, drop off or mail your check to:
First National Bank Ankeny
1205 N Ankeny Blvd
Ankeny, IA 50021
Things to know—Make your check out to ’Celebration of Service’ with ‘Fr Steve Orr’ in the memo section. Donations must be made by Thursday, November 29; the account will then be closed and the check cut for presentation. The bank will not be providing a list of names and amounts given. If you wish Fr Steve to know your parish gift, please include a note in your personal card to him— ‘I/We contributed $_______ in Celebration of your Service to OLIH.’
Remember when Father asked for folks to save him a few cookies when they were baking their Christmas favorites? You did such a great job then, we hope you’ll do it again! At his reception, besides the usual hors d’oeuvres, we want to have platters of home-made cookies and bars to serve. (It is an Italian tradition to serve cookies at receptions you know!) We don’t need these for a month but want you to plan ahead so you can drop them off starting November 30. So that we have an idea of how many treats we will have on hand, click here to get on the cookie donation roster!
Can You Help?
We anticipate we could have 1,000 people show up for Fr Steve’s reception. Want to help it go smoothly? Besides keeping the drinks flowing, we need help for our ‘KIds’ Room’. There’s a few places we could use your help—
