Posada Celebration

From: Sunday, December 15 4:00 PM
To: Sunday, December 15 6:00 PM

Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Church will hold a Posada on Sunday, December 15, 2019, from 4-6 PM in the multipurpose room.  Please mark your calendars so that you and your family can participate in this wonderful custom.  After a short reenactment of Joseph’s and Mary’s search for shelter, there will be a reception with food and games for the children.

Advent is a time to reflect on and prepare for the birth of Our Lord.  It is also a time to reflect on the journey that Joseph and Mary had to make from Nazareth to Bethlehem.  When they arrived in Bethlehem, they were unable to find shelter where Mary could give birth to Our Lord and were essentially homeless.

Las Posadas is a Mexican/Latin American custom celebrated during Advent to commemorate the fact that Joseph and Mary could not find shelter in Bethlehem.  In addition, this custom serves as a reminder that many of our brothers and sisters are also homeless in this country and around the world.

¡NO FALTE!

15 de diciembre   4:00-6:00 pm OLIH Church & Social Hall
